The LBJ Presidential Library and Museum is located on the University of Texas campus in Austin, TX.
What they don't tell you
50 miles west of Austin is the LBJ National Historical Park that is the birthplace, home, ranch, and final resting place of the 36th President of the United States. Spending about 20% of his time in office there, it is also known as the “Texas White House”.
Do it like a local
Be sure to go up to the top floor where a seven-eighths scale replica of the Oval Office while Johnson was in Office from 1963-1969. There is also an animatronic LBJ.

The next time you find yourself in Austin, TX a great place to visit is the LBJ Library. Over 100,000 vistors enter its doors located on campus at the University of Texas, annually. (Although the Library is on the grounds of UT Austin, it is federally run and independent from the University).
Standing on thiry acres, the ten-story building was designed by award-winning architect Gordon Bunshaft. It’s not just a library, it is also a museum. Thanks to the Presidential Libraries Act, objects owned, used, bought, or worn were donated by our 36th President Lyndon Baines Johnson and the First Lady. In addition, it contains numerous artifacts donated by their family, close friends, associates, and the American people.
